Peter Higgins Memorial Playday

Friends of Peter Higgins are starting a lacrosse event in Peter's name to instill his spirit for the game of lacrosse in the next generation of lacrosse players. No coach had more passion for the game of lacrosse, cared for his players, or had a story for the "moment" than Peter! Peter grew up and played in the hotbed of lacrosse on Long Island at Ward Melville HS for coaching legend Joe Cuozzo. After some time coaching in HS & College Peter came to New Jersey in 1997 to become the Head Coach of Princeton Day School and later became a beloved coach at Team Turnpike. His impact on players and families in the Greater Princeton area can not be measured! We have developed the concept of running a 6v6 play day that will help programs get a tuneup in before their rec game schedule starts. 6v6 creates a faster pace of lacrosse with more action, scoring, touches, reps, transition, and FUN! A style of play Peter loved!

Location: Princeton Day School (2 turf fields...we will play unless lightning/thunder or significant snow) 650 Great Road Princeton, NJ 08540
Format: 6v6 (5 short sticks, 1 goalie), 3 30-minute games. 2 14 minute halves
Team size: Recommend 9-12 players to maximize playing time and reps/touches for players. If you have a team of 18+ players you can break them up into two teams of 9-12 players for more playing time and touches.
Cost: $250 per team
USA Lacrosse Compliant:  All players must have a valid USA Lacrosse ID number and membership is currently up to date. 
Who will benefit: Proceeds will go towards any of the needs of Peter's Family and establishing scholarships in his name for players who are in financial need to play the game they love.
